Gobindobhog rice/Basmati rice
1 cup

Onion (Finely Sliced)
1 nos

Carrot (diced)
1/2 bowl

Garam masala powder
1 tea spoon

Raisins
1 table spoon

clarified butter
2 table spoon

Cloves
2-3 nos

Green Cardamom
2 nos

Cinnamon stick
1 inch

Whole black pepper
2-3 nos

Salt
to taste

Mint Leaves
2 table spoon

Green chillies
2 nos

Lemon juice
1 tea spoon

Ginger
1 inch

Curry leaves
8-10 nos

Recipe Credit

  1. Soak the rice for 10 mins.
  2. Grind the lemon juice,green chilly,mint leaves and ginger to make a paste.
  3. Heat clarified butter in a pressure cooker.
  4. Add sliced onion and stir fry till golden brown.
  5. Add cardamom powder,cloves,whole black pepper and curry leaves.
  6. Add carrot and mint,green chily and ginger paste and mix well.
  7. Add hot spices and salt and cook in a simmer when oil leaves the pan.
  8. Add rice ,raisins and one cup of water and close the lid. After three whistles turn off the flame. Serve hot.
