Basmati Rice 1 cup
Carrot (julienne) 1 cup
Green Chilli (chopped) 1 nos
Black mustard seeds/Rai 1/4 tea spoon
Yellow urad dal 1/2 tea spoon
Bengal gram/Chana dal 1/2 tea spoon
Whole red chillies 1 nos
Curry leaves 8-10 nos
Coriander leaves 1 table spoon
Cashew nuts 8-10 pieces
Asafoetida/Hing 1 pinch
Salt to taste
clarified butter 2 table spoon

Recipe Credit

  1. Heat clarified butter in a pan. Add cashew nuts and fry until golden brown and keep aside.
  2. Add black mustard seeds,yellow urad dal,chana dal,curry leaves,whole red chilly and asafoetida and fry till golden.
  3. Add green chilly,carrot and coriander leaves and mix well.
  4. Add two cup of water and salt.
  5. When water comes to boil add the soaked rice and sim the flame. Garnish with fried cashew nuts.
