For potato filling :-
Potato( 3 to 4 pieces)
Oil ( 5 teaspoon)
Salt(3 teaspoon)
Red chili powder ( 3 teaspoon)
Turmeric powder(1 teaspoon)
Cumin powder( 2 teaspoon)
Coriander powder( 2 teaspoon)
Dabeli masala(2 teaspoon)
Asafoetida(Hing) (1/4 teaspoon)
Tamarind chutney ( 4 teaspoon)
For garnishing :-
Pomegranate seeds( 4 teaspoon)
Coriander Leaves (couple of branches)
Grated coconut( 6 teaspoon)
For Masala peanuts :-
Roasted and separated peanuts ( 1 cup)
Oil (3 teaspoon)
Red chili powder (1 teaspoon)
Turmeric powder(1 teaspoon)
Cumin powder( 1 teaspoon)
Coriander powder( 2 teaspoon)
Garam Masala( 1 teaspoon)
Salt (1 teaspoon)
For Tamarind chutney :-
Tamarind seedless( 5 teaspoon)
Garlic (6 to 7 cloves)
Red chili powder( 2 teaspoon)
Coriander powder( 2 teaspoon)
Jaggery (7 teaspoon)
Salt( 2 teaspoon)
For Dabeli :-
Butter
Chopped onion

Recipe Credit

  1. Potato filling :- Boil potato with 3 cups of water in pressure cooker for 4 whistles.
  2. Peel and crush potato. Heat oil in the pan and add Asafoetida(Hing).
  3. Add Dabeli masala and tamarind chutney and stir well. Add spices chili powder, cumin powder, salt, coriander powder,turmeric Powder and saute for one minute and mix all the ingredients well.
  4. Add crushed potatoes and mix with prepared paste and stir for 3 minutes.
  5. Once it seems that potato filling is not sticking with pan, that means it's ready and switch off the flame. Take potato filling in bowl. Garnish it with grated coconut, coriander leaves and pomegranate seeds.
  6. Masala peanuts :- Take oil in the pan and add all masala red chili powder, salt, coriander power, garam masala, turmeric powder and mix well.
  7. Add Roasted and separated peanuts mix with all masala and stir for 1 minute.Heat this peanuts mixture for 1 minute and switch off the flame.
  8. Masala peanuts are ready.
  9. Tamarind Chutney :- Soak tamarind in 1 cup of water for 10 to 15 minutes. Chop jaggery in small pieces.
  10. In mixer jar add tamarind, jaggery , garlic cloves, chili powder, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder and make fine paste.
  11. If required add more water. Tamarind chutney is ready.
  12. Assembling :- Take one pav and cut it from middle and apply tamarind chutney.
  13. Put 2 teaspoon of potato filling in it.
  14. On potato filling put chopped onion and masala peanuts. Close the paav gently .
  15. Heat pan on low flame and put butter on it.
  16. Roast one side of dabeli till it becomes crispy and apply butter on other side.
  17. Now roast other side of dabeli. Add sev in it. Dabeli is ready.
