Green peas/ haree matar sabzi is Perfect combination of taste and health. It is attractive member from the pulses family . I find the look of Hare matar very attractive in all of the pulses family members and also find it easy to cook than the other ones.

Green peas 1 cup
Onion 2 nos
Tomato 1 nos
Black Mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon
chilli powder 2 tea spoon
Salt 2 tea spoon
Coriander powder 2 tea spoon
Coriander leaves few
Garam masala 1 tea spoon
For Tadka:
Asafoetida (hing) 1/4 tea spoon
Black Mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 tea spoon
Curry leaves 6-7 pieces
Oil 4 tea spoon
Green chillies 1 nos

Recipe Credit

  1. Keep Green peas for 5 to 6 hours in 3 cups of water.
  2. Finely chop Onion and Green Chilies and Tomatoes.
  3. Boil soaked up Green peas with 2-3 cups of water in pressure cooker till 3 to 4 whistles.
  4. Take a pan and heat oil on a medium flame. Add Asafoetida.
  5. Add Black Mustard , Green Chilies, Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves.
  6. Put chopped Onions in the pane. Saute till it becomes transparent.
  7. Add Tomato in the mix.Saute till it becomes softer.
  8. Add Coriander Powder, Chili Powder, Salt, Garam Masala. Stir and mix all the ingredients well.
  9. Add boiled Green peas in the pane. Saute it gently for 2 minutes.
  10. When the Green peas looks prepared switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves. Sabzi is now ready.
