Hare Pyaz Ki Sabzi | Spring Onion Sabji | Green Onion Vegetable

Hara pyaz or spring onions are usually eaten as a salad. Today, we are going to make spring onion vegetable, a very delicious and easy to prepare Indian style dish that you can have as a side dish to a meal or have some hot chappatis to go with this healthy vegetable.

Either way you are going to love this vegetable. We suggest you do not completely cook the vegetable completely soft but keep a little of the crunchiness intact.

2 tbsp oil
500 grams spring onions (chop green leaves & tender onions & wash them)
1 chopped tomato
1 tsp dhania powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
1 tsp jeera
Haldi (tumeric) powder - 1/2 tsp

  1. Heat oil in kadahi on full heat. add jeera & let it crackle.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes. reduce heat to medium & cook till soft
  3. Add chopped spring onions. stir & add the spices & salt
  4. Mix well & cover with lid. heat on low
  5. Cook for about 2 minutes then give a stir & cover again.
  6. Repeat checking every 1.5-2 minutes till done. our vegetable took 5-6 minutes to cook so be careful and check often
  7. Have it just with roti or paratha, or as a side dish to a meal.
