Ragda Pattice is another tasty and yummy famous dish from the streets of Mumbai. Ragda Patties is a chat dish made with Ragda, Potato patty and another ingredients. In the streets of Mumbai, you will find many Pani Puri and Chat vendors selling this scrumptious dish. With the use of Sev, different Chutneys this dish can be made more tastier. Below is my guide to make this Mumbai’s favorite dish with step by step photos. Hope you all like it.

For Ragada:-
White Peas (1 cup)
Water (6 cup’s) (approx 1 liter)
Salt (as per taste)
Turmeric (1/2 teaspoon)
For Patties:-
Potato (4 pieces)
Onion (1 piece)
Cornflour / Maida (1 cup)
Bread crumbs (1 cup) (optional)
Coriander leaves (few branches)
Salt (as per taste)
Red chili powder (2 teaspoons)
Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
Oil (for frying)
For serving:-
Chopped onion
Chopped tomato
Chopped coriander leaves
Sev
Masala chana dal
Puri / Papdi puri
coriander chutney
tamarind chutney
Pomegranate seeds

Recipe Credit

  1. Preparation of Ragda:- Soak white peas for 6 to 7 hours and pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
  2. Take pressure cooked white peas in wide pan and add water, turmeric powder and salt and stir till all the ingredients are mixed together properly.
  3. Boil it for 3 to 4 minutes. Ragda is now ready and keep it aside.
  4. Preparation of Patties:- Boil and mash potatoes. Finely chop onion and coriander leaves.
  5. In a wide bowl add mashed potatoes and add corn flour/ maida and bread crumbs.
  6. Add chopped onion and coriander.
  7. Add salt,red chili powder, coriander powder and cumin seed powder.
  8. Mix all ingredients and make a dough. Make 12 to 15 equal flat ball out of potato mixture.
  9. Heat tava or pan and apply oil on it.
  10. Cook patties till they become crispy and golden brown from both sides.
  11. Your patties are ready, serve it hot.
  12. Serving:- In a serving plate place 3 to 4 patties.
  13. Pour 1 cup Ragda on it. Top with coriander and tamarind chutney.
  14. Add crushed puri ,chopped onion and tomato.
  15. Add masala chana dal, sev, pomegranate seeds and chopped onion.
  16. Ragda Patties is now ready.
